Chapter 9
Crush on the Detective
David was in the SOG, which is the ‘Special Operations Group’ or as most cops refer to it: ‘The Sons of God’, that is, the SWAT team. He looked so hot in his uniform.
We met in the Police Academy. He was respected by his squad mates. He had a degree and was a little older than most of us. He had an air of confidence that was very attractive. My favorite combination smart, good looking, great ‘bod’ and tall. He knew my boyfriend Charlie, through football. David played and also coached his local team.
When I first broke up with Charlie, I began to spend more time with David. I taught aerobics a couple of times a week in those days, in between shifts. I wore the leotards, “Jane-Fonda and Olivia-Newton-John style”.
Once David asked me to take his footy team through an aerobics session to get them to start working on their flexibility.
Before I got up to take them through a session, there were quite a few wolf whistles and sniggers. David immediately made sure that they would all ‘show me the utmost respect’ and silenced them.
I began to develop a crush on him but David had a long term sweetheart he had met in high school so... I began to date a cocky young real estate agent.
Soon after, David broke up with his long time girlfriend and he asked me out on a date but timing is everything and I was starting to fall for the Real Estate Agent. By the time The Real Estate Agent and I broke up a year later, I had heard David had got back together with his ex.
One night David called me and let me know he was in the city for a friend’s wedding and “did I want to meet up at a city nightclub later, where they all were going?”.
I thought “No, this is dangerous!”
I went to another party but I could not stop thinking about him. I got home early from the party and was about to take my makeup off when I thought “why not just go meet him? We can have a catch up at the nightclub and that’s all, after all we are friends.”
Then I thought to myself “Don’t be silly it’s nearly midnight “Go to bed!”
Then I thought “I’m wide awake, I could just go have one drink with him. It’s getting late, If I can’t find him at the nightclub I’ll just come home”.
As soon as I arrived I saw David and I knew I wanted him. A few drinks later, he convinced me to come and stay at his hotel.
“You can’t drive, you’ve had too much to drink. I’ll sleep on the floor and you can have the bed.”
I was lying on the bed and David lay on the floor right beside me. After a few minutes of looking at the ceiling I leaned over the bed and said, “That floor does not look comfortable. You may as well sleep in the bed with me.
